I have used Mr. Burns for several cases involving sensative issues. Custody, Bankruptcy, and other issues. He was understanding, straightforward and knowledgable. He handled my cases brilliantly. I have referred him to several friends for different issues and they are always greatful that I referred them to him. His fees are reasonable and he accepts payments. I've spoken to him on several issues I needed advice on. I didn't need to retain him and there was no charge for the consultations.

I met in a "free" consultation with the man for a half hour. I brought him paperwork, which we reviewed in that consultation. I gave him $100 deposit. When I came in a month later to drop off a $300 payment, I asked if my husband were to get a position in Virginia (because he was interviewing), if we could get our money back or I wouldn't pay it. I was told yes, I could and that there might be minor administrative fees, so I paid it. My son was there, looking on. When my husband got the position, I was handed an envelope with a check for $100 and told that he was charging me $300 for consultation, reviewing a sheet of my bills, phone consultation, and administrative fees. The consultation was FREE and the review of the sheet I brought him was in the context of that consultation. There was NO phone consultation EVER. So I got charged $300 for his secretary to make a manila folder with my name on it and mail me two bills. I would NEVER EVER use this guy, nor would I recommend him to a soul. He does not actually provide a free consultation at all and he lied to me and then took my money.
