Diane Valente - February 03, 2014

My father had his will and a trust for his home prepared by Mr. Longstreet in 2006. When he had to enter a nursing home we had to remove the home from the trust and put it back in his name. My father passed away last Thursday, January 30th, and I called Mr. Longstreet the following day to see what the best course of action would be. I was hoping we could return the home to the trust to avoid probate, as it was his only asset. His assistant told me I could not talk to Mr. Longstreet over the phone and I would have to schedule an appointment, which would be four to six weeks out. I appealed that this was a time sensitive matter and she responded that "Mr. Longstreet was busy" and that was how they did things. I expressed this was unacceptable to me, but she offered nothing more. I am shocked an attorney's office would treat their clients like this especially at such a difficult time.
