I am driving down an interstate on my way home from camping and here a loud bang. Look over and see a lady yelling at me and flicking me off, then she speeds off. I pull over and can't see any damage because the truck was dirty, just got out of the woods and it is covered in dirt. Get home, wash it and see a big dent in the cab. It wasn't there before the trip, the truck is less than a month old and it is right where I heard the bang, so she clearly threw something at me. I have no clue what I did to her, I was driving in the right lane, speed limit and put my blinker on to turn off the interstate before I heard the noise. Of course this happens on a holiday weekend so I call Erie Tuesday morning when they open. They tell me to call the police and file a report, so I call them. The police tell me they won't file a report because I didn't call them at the time of the accident. So I then call Erie back and they tell me because the person didn't stop and exchange info with me (why would they), that I am at fault and I need to pay my deductible and my rates will increase. I've been a client of theirs for about a year now, paid them almost $3000 in insurance over the past year, and they tell me this bull shit?! God forbid if they actually have to pay out for once. I am not saying I am a perfect driver and just recently did have a claim with them for an at fault accident, I will own up to that. They did have the repairs made after I paid my deductible but for this incident, when there was no way it was my fault and to tell me I am still responsible for the damage is insane.
