My husband and I are going through a complicated adoption process so we needed to get an attorney involved. The law firm that Devra works was recommended to us. The attorney that was recommended to us from that law firm was unavailable to assist us so the firm passed our case to Devra who is also under that firm. When my husband called he was advised to come in for a FREE consultation with Devra. My husband made an appointment for the FREE consultation. After talking with Devra for about 45 minutes, she advised us that she could handle our case. Devra requested a $4000.00 retaininer. My husband and I came back the very next day with the retainer. After retaining Devra we received our bill for the first month. I noticed in the bill that Devra charged us 450.00 for the consultation. I question Devra about it and she advised me that only 30 minutes of the consultation was free. That was never mentioned to my husband up front and even so $450.00???? Our first bill for the first month was right around $2000.00 and nothing major on our case had been accomplished. I was sickened!!! I went on line and googled Devra. I could only find 2 reviews on her in which one of them stated that Devra was really focused on getting your money and over charging you. I tried talking to Devra on a couple of occassions about how she was charging us and all she did was get defensive and stick to her guns on the charges. She was very rude to us. We have since asked her to withdrawl from our case as our attorney. Devra was upset that we asked her to withdrawl from our case so she made sure she got some last jabs in on her last email to us. if the adoption process wasn't stressful enough, we had to deal with a very cold and uncompassionate attorney. I would not recommend using her.
