Jonathan Liang Law Offices
Reviews
Highly Recommended!!! I do not think the previous reviews gave a fair justice to the Jonathan Liang Law Offices. I got my green card through them within just 7 months and the whole experience I had with this law firm was very pleasant. I knew Liang by friends' referrals. To be sure, I interviewed several immigration lawyers before making such important decision. Liang does know the immigration law very well and he is very easy and friendly to talk to. He analyzed the successful rate of my case and provided a very clear fee structure. In fact, it was one of the reasons I chose his law firm to work on my green card application, after interviewed a number of lawyers. Once I have signed on his law firm to work on my case, the lawyers and the staffs in his office work very efficiently to push my case completed and submitted. The law firm even has a nice web system for the clients to log-in and view the status of their cases. On top of that, the staffs are very easy to be reached through the phone or email and they are very patient, knowledgeable and super friendly. I got all my questions answered, reasonable requests fulfilled and I got my green card in as little as 7 months. One extra positive point I would like to mention is that the Liang's law firm is very experienced and thoughtful. I am certainly not familiar with the immigration law or what other things should I applied together with the green card. Along the application process, the staffs at the Liang's law firm would call me up from time to time, and asked me if I would like to apply for the extra permits with absolutely no additional charges from them. For each opinion I am taking, they provided me with the pro and con so that I am able to get a clear picture when I made any decision. I was extremely gratefully for their considerate actions especially when I learned that one of my friends missed her opportunities for the options and caused her the nice job offering and legality to leave the country. My friend ended up spent months of time, money and hassle to get things fixed, but she still has not yet gotten her green card. I highly recommend the people who are serious in getting their immigration status right and do not want to deal with any surprise, hassles and do not mind to pay the reasonable fee (I had a lawyer wanted to charge me $10,000 to $12,000 for my case but working process was awfully slow), trust your cases with them.
I found Liang through a referral and my experience started off well. Unlike the other reviewers I'd say that Liang knows immigration - he was able to provide a plan and a timetable and a clear fee structure. But his counsel didn't get me results. I will explain. All immigration applications take months and Liang's basis for filing was flawed. The company applying for me did not have the prerequisite and required by law ratio of net cash to assets. That means its tax returns didn't prove the ability to pay salary. This concept is so basic even I understand it. However, Liang proceeded to start my file. Only after a year did the latest tax return again show the lack of proof to pay salary. At that point I complained and stopped the process. All Liang offered was filing another way at a discount and even offered to tell me how to file free or charge. I guess this was some type of compensation in his mind. Although, his paralegal was helpful when Liang wasn't available - what people say about not hearing from him is true, it isn't enough to get you a successful immigration application. Considering he is not cheaper than my other competent lawyer I wonder what is wrong with this office. I saw piles of files and folders. Where there were many cases pending during a recession and a clamp down by the DoL? Possibly just a lack of organization. Whatever - I cannot recommendation Liang for work authorization legal work.
