A family member of mine recently lost his job. After hearing his story I felt this was a good case of wrongful termination. I contacted an attorney friend of mine who referred me to this attorney and I passed it on to my family member.
They talked on the phone, briefly discussed the situation, and made the appointment. At the appointment this attorney informed him that Oregon is an at will state and there was nothing he could do...he then charged him $100. I believe an ethical attorney would have said that in the initial phone call and not have wasted his time or my family members money.
