I went in for a support reduction. Gallagher only wanted to take my money and go through the motions with the least amount of work. At the hearing I had to speak up for myself as he was reluctant to introduce or talk about my evidence. He even tried to push me out of the way in front of the judge. Incredibly poor lawyer in my opinion!

I had the WORST experience with J Michael Gallagher and his law office. He overcharged me by encouraging me to sign up with a flat rate for the first 2 months of service. Seemed like a good deal, however that first 2 months of service he did absolutely NOTHING for me. When the 2 months were up he did not inform me that it was up and that I would then be paying hourly for the remainder of the work that needed to be done. I never received a bill so I thought that everything was covered under that flat rate and since during the first two months he took over 2 weeks off due to the holidays I didn't think anything of it that I had not received a bill. Much to my surprise a couple of months ago I received a call from a collection agency trying to collect thousand of dollars from me. I reached out to J Michael Gallaghers office and they then sent me an email of the bill saying that they had emailed it to me in Feb 2013. I had let them know that I never received it and asked if they had done anything else to try and collect their payment. They said they only sent the one bill. This guy is a CROOK and a lousy lawyer. The only way he gets business is because of his stupid advertisements. People are fooled into thinking he's a decent lawyer. He's terrible. If he were any good he wouldn't need to do so much advertising he'd have rave reviews from people that he's truly helped and they would be his advertising for him. I also agree with everythign that the previous "Google User" said in her review about how he treats people. AVOID THIS LAW FIRM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

I wanted to find out what my options were as a grandparent who isn't allowed to see her grandchildren and I decided to see J Michael Gallagher because his ads say he only does family law. I made an appointment and was informed I would be charged $100 for a 1/2 hour consultation fee, which I decided was reasonable. Our consult was a disaster from the beginning. He worked on other client's paperwork and looked at his laptop while I tried to tell him what I needed. He didn't say very much even when I asked him questions. I finally told him that I felt he wasn't listening to me. His reaction was amazing and appalling: he raised his voice and became verbally abusive. I tried to explain to him that I was expressing my feelings that he wasn't listening and I didn't mean to offend him. At this point he actually yelled, "I don't care what you feel! What does that have to do with it? You obviously didn't listen to me and don't intend to pay me and you are wasting my time!" I was quite frightened at this point and I left his office to pay his receptionist. He followed me out and said, "Are you going to tell this to Jesse?" I didn't know who 'Jesse' was but I was in a hurry to get out of there. As I was leaving he said, "You don't have any sense". What a strange thing to say right in front of his receptionist! I'm not sure if he would have behaved this way with a male client and for all I know he could be a good attorney, but if you are a middle aged female I would avoid this man like the plague.
