Pfister Borserine & Associates, PLLC
Reviews
In the courtroom, John Pfister loves a good fight. He commands attention and respect in the courtroom, and knows family law inside and out. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the family code. If your legal issue is narrow, you should do well in having him represent you. However, there's another aspect of his law practice that is troublesome. His communication and attention to details needs serious improvement. There were no hearing preps, and no communication at all from John upon leaving two hearings (how things went, what's next, etc). Nothing. After the judge's ruling some seven weeks later, I heard nothing from Mr. Pfister, and still haven't to this day. I honestly think it's nothing personal against his clients, it's just that he doesn't care about anything other than getting money and putting on a good show in court. This callousness and disregard to details flows down to his legal motions as well. I told him specifically to let me review the motion we were about to file before sending it (knowing I would likely catch some errors). I was ignored, the motion was sent, and upon reading it it was embarrassing how many typos and grammar mistakes there were. It would have been written better by a 1st year law student! Additionally, he scheduled a hearing without even consulting me. It was set for a day in the middle of a long trip of mine for work, and I had to fly back from overseas to make the date (and cost me thousands of dollars in lost pay). Lastly, my hearing was completed in July. Yet it took until October to get a final bill. Just another example of the disorganization in his office. When paying a board certified family lawyer tip-top dollar in Collin county, you'd expect a first-rate experience from top to bottom. That was not my experience with John... Billing rates: $380/hr, and each phone call he makes he charges a minimum $95 (1/4 hour).
