I had no idea where to start on a collection debt that was obviously not mine. So I figured I would call an attorney for a consultation. I called and the lady who answered just said "Law Office". I said "Hi, I've got some questions and I'm wondering if I can set up a consultation." She rudely asked me who I was calling - I said Van Dillen & Flood. She transferred me to them without even saying anything. Then the receptionist picked up and I said the same thing, she transferred me to Van Dillen. He was very rude from the beginning of the call. Almost put out because I obviously didn't even know where to start. But I thought that's what they were here for. I thought that's what consultations were about - and if they didn't want to do it for free all they had to do was say so. I would have gladly paid a reasonable fee for someone to help me get started on what to do to get this collection (who was trying to sue me) taken care of. Especially since they cannot validate the debt. I'm pretty sure it's bogus. I was very disappointed, I was hoping for someone to help me and give me some insight and to leave the call feeling better and to have some items to get started on but no.
